135 Pond Dr includes thoughtful amenities that enhance this already convenient location; there’s a fitness room, saunas, a concierge desk and a party room. Unfortunately, units don’t show up on the market that often so prospective buyers or renters will need to keep an eye out.
The Suites
Floor plans at 135 Pond Dr diverge from typical condo layouts, especially for corner suites which feature deep window bays and irregularly shaped living rooms. Kitchens are open to the living space and layouts generally offer more square footage than Toronto condos for sale with comparable floor plans; 1 bedroom suites fluctuate between 660 and 750 square feet, and the largest 3 bedroom plus den is 2600 square feet.
Units will have hardwood or laminate flooring. Kitchens have modern full-sized appliances and breakfast bars that provide great prep space; one possible drawback is that cabinetry isn’t as abundant as one might expect from such large units. Closet space is ample in these homes and many bedrooms have deep walk-in closets.
Unfortunately, these suites don’t include private balconies, but residents won’t need to journey for greenery.
The Neighbourhood
Thornhill has long been a desirable neighbourhood for families, in large part because of its green spaces, incredible golf courses, and convenient commuter access for car owners.
Recreation options are plentiful here; Saddle Creek Park is to the south of the condos and is equipped with high quality sports facilities and fields. Golfers are only a 10 minute drive from The Thornhill Club — a private golf course — as well as Uplands Golf & Country Club, which is public. Or if your game needs work, Within Range Golf Centres Thornhill Markham is only 5 minutes from the condos.
Those who are lucky enough to live at Saddlecreek Condos can walk to their favourite restaurants; Konjiki Ramen Markham is just minutes away, as is Ten Ren's Tea and fast food spots like Popeyes. Omei Restaurant and Kum Hong BBQ Restaurant are just opposite Highway 7, and there’s a large collection of eateries at Commerce Gate, just east of the condos.
For any shopping needs, there’s a sprawling commercial area to the north of highway 7 with a range of specialty shops. And when residents just want to flesh out their wardrobes, they can drive to SmartCentre Markham Woodside for Winners, Roots, and more.
Transportation
135 Pond Dr has an incredible location, and prospective buyers who enjoy running errands the greener way will be thrilled to learn that most errands can be accomplished without a vehicle. That’s a good thing, because public transit in the area is less than stellar… that’s putting it mildly.
The majority of residents commute by car and that’s especially easy with the 404 only 3 minutes away; total travel time to downtown Toronto takes roughly 25 minutes.
