The developers behind 175 Bonis Ave and 185 Bonis Ave were either infatuated with their latest design, or certain that the public would be. Either way, they went ahead and named their 2015 creation the Love Condos, a suitable name given their past creation: JOY Condos.
The 20-storey tower is clad in glass and metal panels, and appeals to eco-friendly types: Gemterra Development chose to use energy-efficient construction materials, and outfitted the building with a green roof with the help of Turner Fleischer Architects.
In addition to the 296 units found at 185 Bonis Ave, the building is also home to a long list of shared amenities. Residents can enjoy hosting guests in the party room, getting competitive in the games room — which features billiards and darts — or swimming in the indoor pool and relaxing in the hot tub. Residents can also forgo paying for a gym membership, as the building is equipped with indoor fitness facilities as well as an outdoor Tai Chi area.
When the weather cooperates, residents can be found lounging on the common terrace, which also happens to be equipped with barbecues. And to top it all off, the building also boasts guest suites, visitor parking, and a concierge.
The Suites
Not to worry: there’s plenty of choice for condo seekers who have fallen in love with the Toronto condos for sale at Love condos. Suites range from approximately 500 to 1,000 square feet, and contain anything from one bedroom to three bedrooms plus a den. What’s more, the building's also home to 21 Toronto townhouses, each of which features a private outdoor patio.

Suites contain thermal aluminum window frames with double-pane glass for the ultimate in energy efficiency, as well as dual flush, low consumption toilets. Even the appliances here are energy efficient: prospective residents can expect to find 19 cubic-foot Energy Star fridges, 30-inch Energy Star ranges, and Energy Star dryers. And while laminate flooring and granite kitchen countertops don’t do much to help the environment, they certainly do look good.
The Neighbourhood
Situated just north of the 401 and east of the 404 in Scarborough, the Tam O'Shanter - Sullivan neighbourhood is home to a good mix of green, commercial, and residential spaces. When the weather is nice, residents living at 185 Bonis Ave can head over to the Tam O'Shanter Golf Course, a public golf course run by the City of Toronto. Those who are more interested in picnicking than golf, on the other hand, can check out two equally idyllic parks: Ron Watson Park and Stephen Leacock Park.
Rainy days may call for a trip to the Toronto Public Library’s Agincourt branch, which, thankfully, is right across the street from the Love Condos. And when it comes time to shop, residents can head to Agincourt Mall, which contains a No Frills, a Walmart, a Shoppers Drug Mart, and an LCBO.
Transportation
Whether residents prefer to drive or ride the TTC, Scarborough — and the entire GTA for that matter — is accessible for those living at this condo. Those who plan to leave the car behind can start their journeys at Ellesmere Station on the Scarborough subway line, which takes just 15 minutes to reach via the Kennedy bus. Once here, passengers can ride toward the Bloor-Danforth line and into the downtown core in no time.
Residents who prefer to drive can reach the 401 in mere minutes via Kennedy Road. From this major highway, drivers can reach destinations like Pearson International Airport and Yorkdale Mall, or they can transfer onto other highways like the 427 and the Gardiner Expressway.
