About 601 Kingston Road — North Beach
While now there’s no question that east end Toronto is an exciting and desirable area, Namara Developments had the foresight to build at 601 Kingston Road, off Main Street, over a decade ago. Completed in 2006, the North Beach Condos are the eminent forefather for the many new condominiums developing in the area.
Standing at 6 storeys tall, 601 Kingston’s modern building was designed by Core Architects, and may even look better now than when it was built over a decade ago. The expansive window-clad walls and glass balconies still gleam in the sun, and the brick façade looks distinguished as ever — a fittingly noble aesthetic for the North Beach Condos.
At street level, retail spaces are just as thriving as the lush natural landscape that surrounds them. Nonetheless, the ground level is also where the stylishly updated private lobby welcomes the residents each and every day.
Those living in the building have long enjoyed the friendly community in the Upper Beaches neighbourhood, the perfect compliment to a modern building with top-notch amenities. In the North Beach Condos, residents have access to an inviting party room and a versatile meeting room, ready and waiting to host friends, family, and even business partners who want to explore this eclectic east end neighbourhood.
The Suites
A convivial community lives at 601 Kingston, courtesy of there being just 72 Toronto condos within. Ranging in size from about 500 to 1,150 square feet, the floor plans consist of one and two bedroom homes. Regardless of their specific size, the North Beach Condos’ open-concept suites feel expansive, especially thanks to their high ceilings and massive windows that let in plenty of light.
The living rooms are particularly large, and made to feel even more spacious by the fresh and airy atmospheres of the suites. Furthermore, these spaces open onto extraordinary balconies or terraces that; residents living on the south side look towards shimmering waters of Lake Ontario.
Since it has been around for over a decade, some of those living at 601 Kingston have customized their suites to their tastes by now. Nonetheless, the fixtures found in these homes — granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and oversized showers or tubs — means all Toronto condos for sale in this building are luxurious at their core.
The Neighbourhood
Living just outside the core of the city, residents of the North Beach Condos’ enjoy being part of a warm and active community. The charming Beaches neighbourhood contains many community centres, such as the one around the corner on Lee Street, where residents can find the Beaches Recreation Centre with its fitness centre, gymnasium, and indoor pool.
Additionally, with childcare at premium in the city, those interested in 601 Kingston will be happy to hear that the Toronto Norway YMCA Centre is just down the street. Sharing the building with a public school, this YMCA has high quality before and after school programs, and boasts an experienced team and carefully designed curriculum.
Nonetheless, the majority of the neighbourhood is residential, and the careful selection of businesses here are proud to serve this community. There are local cafés, restaurants, and pubs a short walk away, while the closest fare is found at Starbucks, right at the corner of Southwood Drive and Kingston Road.
Transportation
With such lush natural landscapes throughout their neighbourhood, like the ravine right across from the North Beach Condos, residents sometimes feel like they are far removed from the city — but really, they’re living in an enviable part of the TTC network.
The 12 bus runs east and west along Kingston Road and happens to stop outside the doorsteps of the building . As such, it serves The Beaches area well. For destinations throughout the city, taking the 64 bus that stops at Kingston and Southwood as it heads north to nearby Main Station is the best option. Once at Main, passengers can transfer onto the Bloor-Danforth subway line or even take GO Transit, since there’s a train platform just across Danforth Street.
Lastly, residents of 601 Kingston who prefer to drive are very well situated: The Beaches’ traffic is fast-paced so if they need to access the 401, they need only head east on Kingston for about ten minutes.
