About 61 St Clair Avenue WGranite Place

The residences at 61-63 St. Clair Avenue West in the Yonge and St. Clair neighbourhood surpass the great expectations set by its name: The Granite Place Condos. Developed by the Four Seasons Group along with Granite Place Properties, these twin 18-storey condos have maintained their luxury appeal since they were built in 1979.

The development can thank Boris Zerafa of WZMH Architects — perhaps best known for their work on the CN Tower — for their enduring elegance. As the structure rises, its spacious balconies extend to create sharp corners, resulting in a resolute impression fitting for such a distinguished residence.

Conversely, the building exterior features distinctive cladding. This gives their twin towers a softer, more welcoming character, especially when their brilliant glazing gleams in the sunlight.

Residents enjoy an extensive array of amenities. While this includes fitness facilities, a lounge, a catering kitchen, and library, the highlight is the salt water pool, a unique swimming experience in the city.

Finally, coming home to 61-63 St. Clair means more than coming through a 24-hour concierge-staffed lobby: The parkette grounds features a garden designed by Lois Lister, which gives the Granite Club Condos an added atmosphere of serenity.

    The Suites

The variety of residents at the Granite Place Condos is a direct result of the 261 Toronto condos found within, which include studios, plus one and two bedroom suites with options for a den as well. Though they range from approximately 500 to almost 4,500 square feet, all Toronto condos for sale here share a common design principle: generous sophistication.

Supervised by the exacting eye of Four Seasons founder Isadore Sharp, precise execution matches the highly-acclaimed suite design at Granite Place. This means open floor plans, expansive balconies, and consistently updated kitchens, which makes this building compare favourably to many recent midtown Toronto condos.

Finally, 61-63 St. Clair West’s location overlooks the city from an enviable vantage point. Towards the south, the foreground of mature trees makes the perfect complement for many of the suites’ unobstructed views of the city’s skyline.

    The Neighbourhood

The Granite Place Condos grew out of the prestigious Granite Club, which once called the lands that came to be 61-63 St. Clair West home. That select association helped to establish the Deer Park community at St. Clair West and Yonge Street as one of the most prominent in the city.

At the nearest major intersection, Yonge and St. Clair West, many high-rise office towers offer exceptional street level stores and restaurants. Furthermore, for running many errands, the Granite Club Condos’ residents appreciate that a Loblaws and a Service Ontario can be found at Yonge and St. Clair West.

Finally, despite many misguided assertions of Deer Park’s exclusivity, its Public Library is one of the best in the city. Additionally, Deer Park Public School’s considerable accessibility features allow full integration for any student with physical exceptionalities. Therefore, the residents can take pride in being part of a truly considerate community.

    Transportation

In the 1840s, patrons of a Deer Park hotel could feed deers that roamed the property. Though now the development of the Yonge and St. Clair West intersection and its surroundings means meeting a roaming deer in the area is far less likely. It does mean, however, that residents can meet anyone around the city with ease, thanks to excellent public transit options.

At St. Clair West Station, about five minutes away, residents can hop onto the subway and be downtown in no time. Additionally, the 512 St. Clair Streetcar runs between the station all the way to Keele Street, and happens to stop right in front of 61-63 St. Clair West at Deer Park Crescent.

Lastly, the Granite Place Condos’ residents who drive are very happy since three tiers of parking lie under its beautiful parkette. Moreover, the streets in the area move well within the city. Those with destinations farther away can follow Yonge to access the 401 in no time.
