About 311 Bay Street — The St. Regis Residences
For a building that was once the Trump Tower, 311 Bay Street and 325 Bay Street has certainly come a long way. While the building itself has existed since 2012 — meaning no major construction was required in order to open the St. Regis — the 2018 re-opening revealed plenty of renovations and a much-welcomed rebranding.
Today the 57-storey tower with a reflective glass façade, which was designed by Zeidler Partnership Architects, is home to 379 high-end luxury suites as well as a luxury hotel. On top of the typical condo amenities, like an indoor pool, party room, gym, visitor parking, business centre, guest suites, and concierge, residents living at the St. Regis Residences also have access to some over-the-top extras.
A car service is available (for a fee), and using this service means being transported to one’s destination in a BMW 7 Series vehicle. Louix Louix, a restaurant whose food and interior design is suited for royalty (think caviar and a gold colour palette), is situated on the 31st floor of the building. And last but not lost, residents also have access to the hotel’s spa and cocktail lounge.
The Suites
As expected, the homes at 311 Bay St and 325 Bay St can be enormous. However, those looking for one or two bedroom Toronto condos can opt for the smaller suites, which start at around 650 square feet. The largest homes in the building reach to 4,400 square feet, with the exception of a 3-storey penthouse that spans 11,700. Some studios can be found throughout the building, as well as 3 bedroom units and everything in between. Many homes contain 2 bathrooms, and units with dens or libraries are also aplenty at 311 and 325 Bay.
Details like coffered ceilings and sliding doors into bedrooms make living at the St. Regis Residences feel all the more elevated, while minimalist kitchens with sleek cabinetry and Miele appliances will satisfy home chefs, no matter their skill levels. Large, bright windows and hardwood flooring may be expected of a luxury building such as this, but electric fireplaces, motorized blinds, and sound insulation between suites set these downtown Toronto condos apart from the rest.
The Neighbourhood
The best part about living in the City Centre neighbourhood is having countless attractions within walking distance of one’s home. Just a few blocks away is the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre, Massey Hall, the Eaton Centre, the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, the Design Exchange, and so much more.
And while it’s less fun to think about more practical matters, 311 Bay St and 325 Bay St is also a convenient address thanks to its proximity to grocery stores, banks, and even City Hall. The Market by Longo’s is just around the corner, at First Canadian Place, and McEwan in the TD Bank Tower is just south of there.
Transportation
Luckily for residents of the St. Regis Residences, King Station on the Yonge subway line takes 4 minutes to reach on foot, and St. Andrew Station on the University-Spadina line is just a 6-minute walk away. Once at one of these stations, all residents have to do is ride one stop south in order to reach Union Station. Those planning to do a lot of travelling while living at 311 and 325 Bay can reach Pearson International Airport in less than 40 minutes using public transit, thanks to the UP Express train that departs from Union Station.
As for drivers living in the building, the Gardiner Expressway is accessible via the Bay Street on-ramp. Once on this east-west highway, drivers can zip across the southern edge of the city, or transfer onto other routes like the 427 or the Don Valley Parkway.
